About Us

Who we are!

Founded in 2003, the Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA) engages with our members, governmental agencies, other advocacy groups, media and the public in order to ensure our members receive full services and dignified treatment by promoting the values of equality, fairness and respect on behalf of our members and provide a supportive community for Veterans who identify under the “Transgender Umbrella”.

There are over 163,000 self identified trans veterans. As an organization for trans veterans and operated by trans veterans, we are extremely passionate. If you would like to join our efforts to improve the quality of life of our community, make your contribution today and join our grassroots force.
