Josie Caballero is a Navy veteran that worked as a nuclear reactor operator on the USS Ronald Reagan.

Josie is a proud trans woman and the Director of the U.S. Transgender Survey & Special Projects for the National Center for Transgender Equality. Josie plays a crucial role in organizing and coordinating researchers, academics, and activists across the US to ensure the scientific integrity & efficacy of the USTS.

Josie also serves as a member of the Lived Experience Committee for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center, and a founding member of the Trans Advisory Committee for the DNC.

Josie’s diverse experience in organizing has brought her skills in building collations, policy, political strategy, management, program development, data analytics, mobilizing, fundraising, and community advocacy to TAVA.
