Zander Keig, LCSW, is employed with the Navy Medicine West Regional Transgender Care Team at Naval Medical Center San Diego, as a clinical social work case manager serving transgender active duty service members seeking gender transition health care services.
Zander is an appointed member of the NASW National Committee for LGBT Issues and is listed as a “NASW 1000 Experts” LGBT topic expert. In addition, he serves on the California Mental Health America Reducing Disparities Transgender Advisory Group, mentors social work graduate students, contributes to social work textbooks and is a sought-after diversity and inclusion speaker, consultant, trainer and facilitator.
Zander holds a B.A. in speech (Metropolitan State College of Denver, 1999), a M.S. in conflict analysis and resolution (Nova Southeastern University, 2002), a M.T.S. in Theology (Pacific School of Religion, 2004), and a M.S.W. in social work (San Diego State University, 2012).
Zander is co-editor of the 2011 Lambda Literary Transgender Non-fiction Finalist “Letters for My Brothers: Transitional Wisdom in Retrospect” (Wilgefortis, 2011); co-editor of the 2015 Lambda Literary Transgender Nonfiction Nominee “Manning Up: Transsexual Men on Finding Brotherhood, Family & Themselves” (Transgress Press, 2014); and is featured in the 2014 award-winning illustrated documentary “Zanderology.”
Zander lives in beautiful San Diego, CA with his amazing wife. They celebrated their fifteenth anniversary in September 2017.
